We are going to work on our first formal inquiry/confirmation lab in the grade 11 physics course. Below is a list of resources that will help you in the process as well as list of possible labs to complete.
Grade 11 physics handbook which includes the lab rubric, instruction on each component of the lab report, a guided explanation of the confirmation lab process and an exemplar of the types of appendices that may be used.
Here is a link to an exemplar lab (grade 10) which will help with formatting. Note that the lab is done to grade 10 requirements and does not have the integrated purpose paragraph. Please see exemplar in physics handbook for help with that section.

Lab choices:
- Confirm Newton’s 2nd Law by confirming the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force applied on the object.
- Confirm Newton’s 2nd Law by confirming that the acceleration of an object is inversely proportional to the mass of the object.
- Investigate friction.
- Investigate a factor which affects the energy efficiency of a simple machine (you can not choose an incline plane as your machine).
- Investigate a factor or factors which affect the power generated by human activity.
- Investigate a factor which may affect the period of a pendulum.
- Investigate a factor or factors which affects the specific heat capacity of a substance.
